Scan cards with your phone

Read a card

Use an NFC-capable phone and a reader app that can show a tag's URL. Start a read operation, place one card near the phone's NFC antenna and hold it still until the read completes. The reader location differs by phone; remove a thick case or move the card slowly if needed.

Reading is enough to collect a URL. Do not choose write, format or lock when you only want to submit a scan. Check that the copied value is a complete URL rather than only the card's display title.

Collect several cards

Keep a private note with one URL per line and a short label for your own reference. Scan one card at a time, confirm it was captured and move it to a finished stack. Check for accidental duplicate lines before pasting the batch into Submit a Link.

The old iOS shortcut used Toolbox Pro and Notes. Its price, permissions and compatibility have not been revalidated, so this guide does not require purchasing that app or installing the old shortcut. If you automate scanning, review what the shortcut can read, write and share first.

Protect the scan

Official/protected URLs can contain access-bearing query parameters. Keep complete scans in the private submission flow, not in public posts or screenshots. If you need support, share the CardID and error text first. A successful scan neither establishes account ownership nor grants Archive Access.

MYO scanning

Use the Yoto app to link a playlist to an official MYO card before reading it if you are collecting the resulting playlist link. Keep a spare MYO card for this purpose; linking changes what it plays. See linking cards.
