Preserve your work

Keep your audio files and note the playlist name before changing anything. If some tracks already work, do not delete the whole playlist as the first troubleshooting step.

Narrow the problem

  1. Play the failing file locally and confirm it is complete.
  2. Check Yoto's current file type and upload-size requirements.
  3. Try a small supported test file in a separate test playlist.
  4. If that works, upload the original files in smaller batches to find the failing item.
  5. Check the connection and the error shown by the page. Refresh only after ensuring the current upload is no longer running.

If one file consistently fails, re-export a working copy in a supported format and test it before replacing the original. Renaming an extension does not convert the audio format.

Playback versus upload

A completed upload, a correctly linked card and audio downloaded to a player are separate checks. Test the playlist in the app, then the card while online, then offline if it contains uploaded audio. Streams need separate online testing.

Ask for help

Record the error, app/browser version, file format and approximate file size. Share a small non-sensitive reproduction if possible. Do not post private recordings, account credentials or paid-feed URLs. See Yoto support for current service problems and linking cards for card-specific issues.
